I am in the process of drawing from the Photoshop images using different mediums, the first image is using charcoal and the second is acrylic and oil pastel. With the charcoal drawing I had difficulty showing the points of contact, arguably the most important element of the picture. The drawing was on a small scale so possibly trying a larger scale charcoal drawing could remedy this issue. The second work began as an acrylic painting but after layers upon layers trying to create form, I began to experiment with oil pastels. The result is underwhelming, I think because I used black oil pastel, which took over the work. The effective element I feel, is actually the different tones and colour of acrylic that make up the background. Moving forward I am going to explore scaling up both approaches and learn from my mistakes of using black.
