chalk and charcoal, exploring shade, and being conscious of composition
charcoal, inspired by Abi’s simple linework drawing style, attempting to capture the perspective
pencil, combining loose and more detailed elements
tipex pen filled with ink, experimenting with mark-making tools
nearly finished waterbased marker and sharpie, combining sharp and soft lines
sharpie, using difficult angle, creating a distorted and hard to understand the final image
charcoal, concentrating on the atmosphere
During these initial drawings I tried to let the mediums I used Inspire the work, seeing how best the marks created by each medium could capture the images in front of me. Moving forward I will be conscious of composition.

After a shoulder injury I’ve had to experiment with different styles and methods of drawing, I have become fixated on holding a ball-point pen right at it’s end. The Lines created using this technique have a satisfying immediacy and looseness.
Environmental
Exploring my environment through monochromatic mediums, I have found myself really enjoying a line-work style. I have found the remaining loose and confident, I have managed to create interesting explorations of my studio away from college.
